Australian Trefoil Health Technologies Pty Ltd Delegation Visits Charles Sturt University (CSU) Wagga Wagga Campus Nutrition Department to Explore University-Enterprise Collaboration

A high-level delegation from Australian Trefoil Health Technologies Pty Ltd, accompanied by representatives from our key Chinese distributor network, conducted a successful visit on 14 June 2023 to the nutrition-related programs and facilities at Charles Sturt University (CSU) Wagga Wagga Campus.

The visit focused on fostering stronger academic-industry partnerships and exploring concrete opportunities for university-enterprise cooperation in nutrition science, food innovation, functional health products, and anti-aging research. The Trefoil team and Chinese partners engaged in productive discussions with CSU academics and researchers specializing in food science, nutrition, and related health disciplines offered through programs such as the Bachelor of Food Science and Nutrition.
 

During the day, the delegation toured relevant campus facilities, including laboratories and research environments supporting studies in nutritional biochemistry, food product development, dietary health trends, and sustainable food systems. Key discussion topics included:
 

  • Potential joint research on enhancing the bioavailability and efficacy of plant-derived bioactive compounds (e.g., flavonoids, selenoproteins) through advanced formulation and nanotechnology;
  • Collaborative development of evidence-based functional nutrition products targeting anti-aging, metabolic health, and degenerative disease prevention;
  • Opportunities for talent exchange, including student internships, co-supervised projects, joint publications, and technology transfer initiatives;
  • Alignment with industry needs in TGA-compliant product innovation and global market expansion in the "big health" sector.


Under the guidance of Trefoil's scientific leadership,the discussions highlighted complementary strengths: Trefoil's proven capabilities in R&D, product commercialization, patent-protected innovations, and international distribution, paired with CSU's strong regional academic foundation in food and nutrition sciences, practical training programs, and commitment to real-world health outcomes.
 

Both sides expressed enthusiasm for advancing formal collaborations, such as joint research projects, shared laboratories, or memorandum of understanding (MOU) frameworks. This visit supports Trefoil's strategic emphasis on deepening scientific partnerships to accelerate innovation in specialized and functional nutrition.
 

The engagement concluded positively, with plans for follow-up meetings and next steps toward potential formal agreements.
